Cindy B. Pope, MA, LPCAs a Charlotte native, I have watched this city grow and develop into a vibrant, exciting place to live, pursue careers, engage in relationships, and raise children. Twenty years of career counseling in the business arena provided a solid foundation for working with diverse client issues. A desire to provide further therapeutic support in a professional clinical setting led to furthering my education.
After receiving a Masters of Art in Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, I earned credentials as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a National Board Certified Counselor (NCC). My professional affiliations include memberships in theAmerican Counseling Association and the International Association of Marriage and Family Counselors. Following school, I worked for a behavioral health facility. This work experience provided the awareness to uncover specialty areas of counseling that have become my passions. People are multi-dimensional with many life roles, such as a spouse, parent, child, sibling, student, employee and friend. Counseling provides a supportive environment to work through life’s everyday concerns. It is important to remember that counseling is not only helpful when crisis arises, but can assist with clarifying thoughts and feelings, increasing decision making-skills, and uncovering and improving coping abilities. |
I truly believe that all of life’s experiences have well prepared me to fulfill my goal of becoming a psychotherapist. In 2003, I opened my own private practice located in the University area of Charlotte. After spending six years in that location, I joined with like-minded professionals in forming Charlotte Integrative Health, a center dedicated to helping people heal mentally and emotionally. As of July 2018, I have independently opened my private practice, Pope Counseling.
